Trying to find a headset for your Avaya phone?

There are so many different Avaya headset connector cables that it can be quite a daunting task to find the correct one for your particular phone model. When you add in the confusion with all the name changes and spin offs, you have AT&T, Lucent and Avaya phones all with the same model numbers. Fear not! We have sorted it all out for you. All of the Avaya cables below are made to work with the Plantronics H-series headsets which have the black plastic rectangular QuickDisconnect at the end of the cord. The QuickDisconnect from the headset snaps onto the QuickDisconnect of the Avaya cable and then you simply plug the Avaya cable into phone's dedicated headset port. There's no need for an external amplifier. These phones are all headset-ready for direct connection to the H-series headsets. Here's the key to all the Avaya phone headset cables:

Avaya IP 9620, 9630, 9640, 9650, 1608 and 1616 all use the Avaya HIS cable (Plantronics part number 72442-01): http://www.founderstelecom.com/dicohiscafor.html

Avaya IP 2410, 2420, 4610, 4620, 4621, 4622, 4625,4630, 5410, 5420, 5610 and 5620 all use the Avaya HIC-1 cable (Plantronics part number 49323-04): http://www.founderstelecom.com/hiccorformer.html

Avaya IP 4606, 4612, 4624 all use the Avaya HIP-1 cable (Plantronics part number 61804-01):

AT&T, Lucent, Avaya "Merlin Magix" Models 4424LD+, 4424D+,4412D+, 4406D+ all use the Avaya HIC-1 cable (Plantronics part number 49323-04): http://www.founderstelecom.com/hiccorformer.html

AT&T, Lucent, Avaya DefinityModel 6416D+M and 6424D+M use the Avaya HIC-1 cable (Plantronics part number 49323-04): http://www.founderstelecom.com/hiccorformer.html

AT&T, Lucent, Avaya Definity"Call Master V" and "Call Master VI" use the Plantronics cable 26716-01: http://www.founderstelecom.com/m12repcab.html

Are you trying to connect a headset to your Packet8 6753i, 6755i or 6757i phone?

There's a lot of confusion both on the part of Packet8 (since they don't actually manufacture the phones themselves) and on the part of Plantronics regarding the headset port on the Packet8 phone model 6753i, 6755i and 6767i. If you look these models up on the Plantronics compatibility guide they tell you to buy an H-series headset as well as an M22 amplifier. In reality, you do not need the amplifier. All you need is the H-series headset and the Plantronics A10 cable and you'll plug it directly into the dedicated headset port on the Packet8 phone. Then, the trick is that you need to follow a few simple steps to initially set up the headset button on your Packet8 phone as follows: Press OPTIONS then PREFERENCES then SET AUDIO then AUDIO MODE then choose HEADSET or choose HEADSET/SPEAKERPHONE if you want to be able to toggle back and forth between your headset and the speakerphone. Once the headset is plugged into the headset port with the A10 cable, you just press your Headset/Speakerphone button on your Packet8 phone and you are in business! If you go to the link at Founders Telecom then you'll see the headsets already paired up with the A10 cables so everything is included. Click here:

Great new product for Shoretel IP Phone users with Plantronics wireless headsets!

If you have a Shoretel IP 565G, IP 560G, IP 560, IP 230, IP 265, IP 530 or IP 212K you can now get any Plantronics wireless headset (such as CS55, CS70, CS70N, CS351N, CS361N or Voyager 510S) and you do not need the HL10 handset lifter for remote call answer or end. Instead of getting the HL10, you should get the Plantronics RD-1 Ring Detector (part number 78887-01). It's half the price of the lifter (only $23.95) and it's a cleaner operation with no mechanical up and down motion to wear out. It's electronic hookswitch, so you'll just have this RD-1 Ring Detector connected in-line between your wireless headset base tower and your Shoretel IP phone. Plantronics was able to create this product with the cooperation of Shoretel. If only more phone manufacturers would work together this way we'd have a lot more user-friendly products! Here's the link to the product if you need it: http://www.founderstelecom.com/plrdridepodf.html

Also, if you have a Shoretel IP phone model above and you just want a traditional corded headset (not wireless), the good news is your phone is headset-ready for plug-and-play! Just get any Plantronics H-series headset along with the Polaris cable and that's all you need (no amplifier required). If you click this link you will see the headsets already paired with the proper cable so it's all included: http://www.founderstelecom.com/heforshshipm.html
